Serve & Connect
At St. Peter’s, we believe everyone has gifts to share and a place to belong. Whether you’re helping lead worship, joining a small group, serving in our community, or connecting through a ministry, there’s a way for you to grow in faith and make a difference.
Explore the opportunities below and discover where your passions and God’s work meet.
Youth & Family
Our Youth & Family ministry nurtures faith from early childhood through high school with learning, service, and community. On Sunday mornings, children in PreK–5th grade gather for Sunday School at 9:30am, and during worship they are invited to a breakout time where they can hear scripture in a way that’s developmentally appropriate. Wednesdays are a time for 5th grade and older—JumpStart for 5th–6th graders, Confirmation for middle schoolers, and high school youth—all beginning with dinner at 5:00pm, followed by classes from 6:00–7:00pm. Throughout the year, we offer milestone experiences like First Communion, Walk Thru the Bible, and a two-year Confirmation program grounded in Luther’s Small Catechism, along with opportunities to serve, learn, and grow together. Each summer, we host a high-energy Vacation Bible School and offer a variety of trips—from elementary and middle school camp at Camp Chrysalis, to high school mission trips, Rainbow Trail in Colorado, and the ELCA Youth Gathering. In all of this, we aim to help young people discover their gifts, grow in faith, and find a community where they belong.
50+ Community
Our 50+ Community offers meaningful connection, growth, and fun through a variety of groups and activities. S.A.L.T. (Senior Adults Living Triumphantly) and Empty Nesters provide monthly opportunities for fellowship, learning, and service—whether that’s hearing from engaging guest speakers, enjoying a meal together, or lending a hand in community outreach. Women gather monthly for the Ladies Lunch Bunch, and golfers connect through SALTed Tees. Special service projects throughout the year allow us to share Christ’s light with others in tangible ways. Whether you’re retired, nearing retirement, or simply looking for friendship and purpose, you’ll find a place to belong.
Music Ministry
Music is a vital part of our life together at St. Peter’s, and there’s a place for everyone to make a joyful noise!
- St. Peter’s Choir welcomes singers ages 14 and up, no experience required. We sing a variety of anthems throughout the year, leading worship at the first service on the first Sunday of the month and the second service every other Sunday. Regular rehearsals are Wednesdays from 5:30–6:30pm (adjusted during Lent and summer).
- St. Peter's Handbells rings from August through May, rehearsing Wednesdays from 4:00–5:00pm. All are welcome—no prior handbell experience needed!
- Instrumental Ensemble plays for special services like Palm Sunday, Easter, and Lessons & Carols, with flexible rehearsals based on member availability. Parts are tailored to each musician’s skill level.
- Coffee House Band leads contemporary music on the fourth Sunday of each month and for special occasions. All instruments and voices are welcome.
- Family Choir gives parents and children the chance to sing together in worship on special occasions. With just one relaxed rehearsal and no ongoing commitment, it’s a joyful way for families to share music and faith side by side.
Whether you sing, play an instrument, or want to try something new, there’s a place for you to share your gifts and praise God through music.
Small Groups
Small groups are one of the best ways to grow in faith and build meaningful relationships at St. Peter’s. Whether it’s studying the Bible together, joining in service and outreach to our community and the world, or simply gathering around a shared interest, small groups offer space to connect with God and one another. Groups start and grow throughout the year, so there’s always a place to jump in, meet new people, and experience the joy of learning, serving, and living life together.
Worship Volunteers
Serving in worship is a meaningful way to use your gifts and help create a welcoming, Spirit-filled experience for all who gather. There are many ways to get involved—no prior experience needed, just a willing heart!
- Lectors – Bring God’s Word to life by reading scripture during worship. You’ll receive the readings ahead of time so you can prepare and share them clearly and confidently.
- Communion Assistants – Help serve the bread and wine (or grape juice) during Holy Communion, reminding each person of God’s grace given for them.
- Bread Bakers – Provide fresh bread for our communion table, offering a tangible gift of hospitality to the congregation.
- Altar Guild – Prepare the communion elements, care for the altar, and tend to the worship space so it’s ready for each service.
- Greeters & Ushers – Welcome people as they arrive, hand out bulletins, assist with seating, and help with offering and communion flow.
- Tech Team – Support our in-person and online worship by running sound, slides, and livestream technology.
When you serve, you’re helping others encounter God’s presence in worship—and we’d love to help you find the role that fits you best.
