About St. Peter's
Rooted in Grace. Growing in Community. Living the Gospel.
St. Peter’s is a vibrant ELCA congregation in the heart of the Highland Lakes, where people from all walks of life gather to worship, serve, and grow in faith together. We believe the Spirit is active here—meeting us in grace and sending us out in love.
We believe that we are saved by grace through faith, not by what we do, but by what God has already done through Jesus Christ.
The Bible is central to our life and teaching, and we affirm the historic creeds of the church — including the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.
Through worship, witness, acts of justice, and love, we are called to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world. And above all, we believe that everyone is welcome at God’s table and in God’s church.
Our Purpose:
Together, BOLDLY living and sharing God’s grace with all.
Our Guiding Principles:
-
Jesus is Lord and Savior
-
Everyone is welcome
-
God frees us to change and grow
-
Each of us has gifts for sharing
-
All people need God’s love
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church has served the Marble Falls area since 1960, when a small group of faithful Lutherans came together to form a new congregation. From our granite sanctuary built with local stone to the generations of families who have worshiped here, God’s grace has been the thread that ties it all together.
Over the years, we’ve grown in mission and ministry—adding education spaces, launching new outreach efforts, and partnering with our community in times of need. In 2008, we helped support the launch of Spirit of the Hills Lutheran Mission, and in 2018, our “Building to Bless” campaign helped us reimagine our campus for the next generation.
Like all churches, we’ve walked through seasons of change—welcoming new leaders, adapting to a post-COVID world, and discerning how to remain faithful to our calling in a changing world.
Today, we are a multi-generational congregation of around 450 members. We worship, serve, and grow together—trusting that God’s Spirit is still writing the next chapter of our story.
